Google Wallet Can Now Create Digital Passes For Almost Anything
We love keeping digital passes in our phone’s wallet, and it can be frustrating when we have to use a different app or a saved PDF. Luckily, Android users now have a better option thanks to a new feature in Google Wallet. This feature uses AI to create a digital pass with all the important details, just like any other digital pass.
Announced at the I/O conference in May, this new option replaces the old “Photo” feature in the “Add to Wallet” menu. The new feature is called “Everything Else” It helps you avoid searching through your email for a PDF when you’re at a venue or trying to find your insurance card in a healthcare app.
Google Wallet can generate passes for many types of cards, like business cards, IDs, library cards, loyalty cards, passports, and vehicle registrations. Right now, this feature is only available in the US.

When you select “Everything Else,” the app will ask for permission to use Google’s AI to process your sensitive information. Plus, to organize it into categories like private pass, health pass, or driver’s license. You can then take a picture of the pass, and after processing, you can adjust any details or categories that need correction before approving the final product.

Google has released instructions for using this feature, which started rolling out earlier this month. We have it on the Galaxy Note 20, but it’s not yet available on the Pixel 6. However, it should be accessible on more devices soon.
