Galaxy Watch FE is Revelaed with Advance Features

Recent leaks were confirmed as Samsung unveiled its third smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch FE. This new model serves as an entry-level option, making it a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy Watch series.

Galaxy Watch FE Price

Samsung’s decision comes after a price increase in their watch series over the last two years by $50 to address inflation. The Galaxy Watch FE is priced at $199 for the Bluetooth version and $249.99 for the LTE version, returning to their earlier, more competitive pricing. This addition diversifies Samsung’s smartwatch offerings, mirroring Apple’s strategy with a budget, flagship, and premium model lineup.

Galaxy Watch FE Release Date

The FE model is designed to offer a more affordable alternative within Samsung’s range of smartwatches. Set to hit the market soon, the Galaxy Watch FE will be available from September 15th. This release is part of Samsung’s strategy to provide a budget-friendly option alongside its more premium models, making advanced wearable technology accessible to a broader audience. The Galaxy Watch FE will be offered in both a Bluetooth version, priced at $199, and an LTE version, which will retail for $249.99.

Galaxy Watch FE Specs

The Galaxy Watch FE is priced lower by cutting back on some features compared to higher-end models. It is available only in a 40mm size and has a smaller 1.2-inch OLED screen. It uses the older Exynos W920 chip, rather than the newer W930, and includes 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

While it retains most standard sensors, it lacks the temperature sensor introduced in last year’s models. Additionally, it has a smaller 247mAh battery. When The Verge inquired about whether the FE supports fast charging, there was no immediate response.

Despite being a budget option, the Galaxy Watch FE doesn’t skimp on essential features. It boasts the same sapphire crystal lens, IP68 water and dust resistance, and 5ATM water resistance as higher-end models.

The watch also features a convenient one-click strap mechanism, NFC for payments, and built-in GPS. It supports LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi, and runs on OneUI Watch 5 and Wear OS 4. Additionally, it offers health monitoring like EKGs, body composition analysis, and personalized heart rate zones, along with alerts for abnormal heart rates.

The early announcement of the FE comes as a surprise, as Samsung usually reveals new wearables at its summer Unpacked event, scheduled next month in Paris. This event is expected to be significant, possibly introducing the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the Galaxy Ring. Introducing the FE now prevents it from being overshadowed by more feature-rich models.
