Apple and Meta Discuss AI Partnership: Future AI Innovations
According to the Wall Street Journal, Meta Platforms, Facebook’s parent company, has been in talks to integrate its generative AI model into Apple’s newly announced AI system for iPhones. This potential collaboration aligns with Apple’s strategy to incorporate technology from various AI companies into its devices. Additionally, Apple is reportedly exploring a partnership with Alphabet’s Google, its long-time search partner.
Apple is also expected to pursue AI partnerships with companies in different regions, including China, where the Microsoft-backed OpenAI chatbot, ChatGPT, is banned.
According to the Wall Street Journal, AI startup Anthropic is in discussions with Apple to integrate its generative AI into Apple Intelligence. Sources familiar with the matter confirmed these talks. Meta and Anthropic declined to comment, and Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside business hours.
